The Red Sea Fund, affiliated with the Red Sea Film Foundation, has opened applications for its second round of support this year, designed to support film projects in the production stage, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Set to run until March 21, the program represents a major part of the fund’s ongoing efforts to accelerate the growth of the regional cinema industry and empower creative innovators.
The 2026 round seeks to support emerging cinematic voices from the Kingdom, the Arab world, and filmmakers across Africa and Asia, by offering financial grants, while helping them complete their projects and showcase their creative narratives on a global stage.
The program will mainly select films ready to enter production and begin filming. It targets feature films of at least 60 minutes, whether fiction or animated, as well as series with episodes ranging from 25 to 59 minutes, open to directors of Arab, African, and Asian origins. Moreover, it supports short films under 60 minutes, including fiction, documentary, or animated works, specifically for Saudi directors.
