Saudia Runs Some Flights to Dubai After Suspension

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has partially resumed flights to and from Dubai, after flight suspension resulting from the ongoing military escalation in the Middle East.

In a statement, the airline announced it operate flights from Riyadh and Jeddah to Dubai and vice versa, staring from March 7, 2026.

The flights will initially take place on a restricted frequency, while additional services set to be gradually restored, Saudia noted.

Meanwhile, the suspension of flights to and from Amman, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Bahrain will resume until March 8, as a result of the ongoing developments. Flights to and from Moscow and Peshawar has been extended until March 15, 2026.

Saudia is assessing the gradual return of select services with further updates to follow regarding operational decisions. The airline also emphasized that it is prioritizing the safety and security of its guests and crew.

Since February 28, the US, Israel and Iran have been locked in a military confrontation that disrupted air travel across the Middle East. Several countries have closed their airspace, leading to the suspension of thousands of flight and thousands of passengers being stranded.

In a generous gesture, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, instructed to offer accommodation to citizens from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries who are stranded in Saudi airports, until they can safely return to their home countries.

King Salman’s directive came upon a proposal from the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman.
