The Haramain High-Speed Railway will operate over 3,662 trips set to accommodate more than 1.7 million passengers, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) has recently wrapped up its operational preparations to increase travel capacity between Makkah and Madinah during the holy month.

SAR also unveiled that this season’s operational plan features more than 100 daily trips on the Haramain High-Speed Railway.

The company has revealed the purchase of 20 new high-speed trains from Spanish manufacturer Talgo. They will be delivered between 2028 and 2031.

The latest initiatives perfectly align with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics.

The Haramain High-Speed Railway operates some of the fastest passenger trains in the world, reaching speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour.

Spanning across a 453-km line, it links Makkah and Madinah through Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City.
