Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Center for Disability Research, inaugurated the Sensory Room Initiative for travelers with disabilities at King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) in Dammam yesterday. The event was attended by Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and Chairman of Matarat Holding, along with several senior officials.
During the ceremony, Prince Sultan emphasized the Kingdom’s dedication to enhancing services for individuals with disabilities and commended the collaborative efforts between the King Salman Center for Disability Research and its partners at KFIA. He also announced that a similar initiative will soon be introduced at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.

The sensory room at KFIA, the largest of its kind in Saudi Arabia, includes 12 interactive devices and a dedicated area for elderly travelers. Designed to enrich the travel experience of children with disabilities and older passengers, the facility ensures greater comfort, safety, and accessibility for them and their families.
This initiative stems from a prior agreement between Matarat Holding, the King Salman Center for Disability Research, and Saudi Aramco to advance airport services for people with disabilities and streamline their travel across Saudi airports.
