Saudi Culture Ministry Fosters Heritage Cooperation with Korea Heritage Service

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture has signed an executive program of cultural cooperation with the Korea Heritage Service (KHS) to further strengthen the Saudi-Korean relations.

The program aims basically to boost cultural relations between both countries and implement the provisions of the memorandum of understanding signed in Seoul in 2019.

Held at the National Palace Museum of Korea in Seoul, the signing ceremony witnessed the presence of Deputy Minister for Research and Cultural Heritage Dr. Maha Al-Senan and KHS Director General for Intangible Heritage Yoon Soon-ho.

Notably, the program concentrates on four key pillars of cooperation including the enhancement of capacity in digital archiving through specialized training programs for the digitization of cultural records. Furthermore, it includes the collaboration on joint cultural conferences, particularly those centered on intangible cultural heritage.

Both parties will also cooperate in advancing cultural research by supporting joint projects on topics of shared interest.

This initiative further enhances cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and Korea and underscores both nations’ commitment to sharing pioneering expertise and bolstering strategic partnerships in heritage and documentation. It also reflects the Ministry of Culture’s dedication to advancing international cultural exchange and fulfill the objectives of the National Culture Strategy in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
