RSG Unveils Laheq Island: Premier Destination for Luxury Living, Unmatched Experiences

Red Sea Global (RSG) has announced the launch of Laheq Island, its first private residential island and a landmark in luxury lifestyle offerings within the Kingdom.

This milestone marks RSG’s first residential development following the successful completion of Phase One of The Red Sea destination, which welcomed its first guests in 2023 and saw the debut of five world-class resorts. Construction is now in progress on 11 additional resorts on Shura Island, supported by the operational Red Sea International Airport, now offering regular domestic and international flights.

Set to open in 2028, Laheq Island will be the first project within the destination focused on residential ownership, blending elite living with extraordinary hospitality services and amenities.

Nestled in an archipelago of 92 untouched islands along Saudi Arabia’s western coast, Laheq is surrounded by one of the world’s largest barrier reefs, home to more than 2,000 rare and unique marine species. Spanning 400 hectares, the island will offer a rich array of recreational facilities and lifestyle experiences designed to captivate both residents and visitors.

As part of its unwavering commitment to sustainability, RSG has pledged to plant 50 million mangrove trees, restore and protect coral reefs, and safeguard surrounding marine ecosystems.

Once complete, The Red Sea destination will be the world’s largest fully renewable energy-powered tourism development—including Laheq Island.  Additionally, all 16 resorts in Phase One are expected to be operational by the end of this year.

By 2030, the broader destination will encompass 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential units across 22 islands and six inland locations. Finally, the Red Sea International Airport will continue to serve as the primary gateway for both residents and international travelers.
