The Tabuk region, a prominent tourist destination in northwestern Saudi Arabia, is celebrated for its varied landscapes. Among its most remarkable natural features is Harrat Lunayyir, also known locally as Harrat Al-Shaqa.
Situated to the east of Umluj Governorate, this volcanic lava field is one of the most notable in the Kingdom, with lava covering around 70% of its surface. Marshes make up 5% of the area, especially in the coastal zones along the Red Sea.
Harrat Lunayyir is an outdoor natural museum, displaying volcanic formations that date back to the early Tertiary Period. Its towering volcanic hills and cones enhance its distinctive visual charm.
SPA has captured breathtaking images of these volcanic formations, which have preserved their original structure over time. This rare geographical feature makes Harrat Lunayyir an extraordinary sight.
