Arab Week at UNESCO Highlights Saudi Arabia’s Role in Promoting Cultural Dialogue, Coexistence

The Arab Week is set to commence tomorrow at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris.
The event is pivotal in promoting Arab and international cultural and civilizational initiatives, fostering advancements in education, culture, and science both regionally and globally.
For the first time in more than half a century, Arab nations have come together to organize an Arab Week at UNESCO. Leading this initiative is the Saudi National Committee for Education, Culture, and Science, underscoring the Kingdom’s commitment to cultural dialogue and coexistence.
The event honors the rich cultural heritage of the Arab world through literature and the arts, creating a platform for intercultural dialogue. It brings together all Arab countries to display the depth and diversity of Arab culture and civilization, fostering mutual understanding and contributing to cultural growth.
Arab Week at UNESCO includes 22 dedicated spaces representing various Arab countries, each highlighting unique elements of Arab culture. The event will also feature seven seminars covering a range of topics, including the Arabic language, calligraphy, literature, artificial intelligence, education, fine arts, intangible cultural heritage, and world heritage.
The Arab Week will feature a variety of activities, including musical performances, handicrafts, traditional Arab fashion, and cuisine. Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience a cultural exhibition, an Arabic calligraphy display, a photography exhibition showcasing heritage sites across the Arab world, and an exhibition of Arab cultural products.
The committee’s work aims to represent the Kingdom in regional and international organizations related to education, culture, communication, and information. It supports cooperation with international and non-profit organizations, builds communication bridges, and uses all available resources to promote initiatives that enhance cultural dialogue between Arab countries and the world. This effort leads to the major initiative of Arab Week at UNESCO, endorsed by Arab countries. It will showcase their historical diversity, cultural richness, and values rooted in a rich heritage.
