Saudi Arabia’s Theater and Performing Arts Commission is currently hosting the 14th edition of the Gulf Theater Festival in Riyadh from September 10 to 17, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
After an eight-year hiatus, the festival comes again bringing together various artists, performers, and cultural figures from across the Gulf Cooperation Council nations.
“The festival is a night of Gulf culture, celebrating theater as a platform for creativity that has enriched cultural memory and fostered collaboration between our sister nations,” CEO of the Theater and Performing Arts Commission, Sultan Al-Bazie.

Under the auspicious of Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Commission Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the event represents a perfect platform and a cultural theatrical gathering of artists and creators from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
With a bold vision to exchange experiences, share knowledge, and boost intellectual dialogue to advance the theatrical movement among GCC countries, the festival is currently offering Gulf theatrical performances, seminars and workshops.
The eight-day festival boasts several theatrical performances by artists from different GCC countries and a variety of cultural and artistic events.

“The event aligns with our commitment to creating a thriving Gulf cultural landscape that enhances national identity, encourages dialogue with the world, and boosts the economic sustainability of the arts,” Al-Bazie added.
The festival commenced with an opening ceremony featuring prominent figures from the Gulf and Arab theater scenes.
“It will continue to grow stronger and greater and evolve into institutional work to promote aid, theatrical production, training, and joint efforts. These are all hopes we aim to achieve in the coming years,” Al-Bazie added.
