The Saudi authorities have recently given special support to coffee bean farms in Jazan to foster the coffee production and support the farmers.

The new patents reflect the unwavering efforts of the Center for Environmental and Natural Research at Jazan University and its commitment to boosting research and innovation.
Emerged from a natural mutation of coffee plants, the varieties were discovered in four locations and categorized as follows:
- Jazan Light
- Jazan Premium
- JU2030
- Jazan Mocha

Saudi Arabia’s Coffee Company Academy has recently launched “Best Agricultural Practices” program to boost coffee cultivation practices in Jazan region.
The program achieved remarkable success and provided farmers, entrepreneurs and coffee enthusiasts with advanced skills under the supervision of internationally recognized experts.

Theses outstanding achievements stand as a testament to the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to fostering sustainable agriculture, diversifying the national economy, and creating job opportunities for national cadres.
The Kingdom has a long history of coffee consumption due to the Saudi culture that considers coffee as an expression of hospitality and welcome. In 2021, the Saudi Ministry of Culture designated 2022 as “The Year of Saudi Coffee,” celebrating an integral part of the Kingdom’s social traditions.
