
The human body is made up of 70% water and it is essential to drink enough water to support our bodies’ functions.
We lose water constantly through sweat, urination, breathing, and even doing the daily normal activities. That is why it is so crucial to drink enough adequate amounts of water to stay hydrated. Otherwise, dehydration an actually serious problems from persistent headaches to digestive issues.
Signs You Are Not Drinking Enough Water
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, try to increase your daily water intake as an initial step.
1-Headache

Not drinking enough water can lead to dehydration headaches which is more common among athletes. They need more water to fill up the lost fluids during physical activity. That is why it is necessary to drink enough water after exercises or workouts and the headache will go after almost one hour.
2-Fatigue

Tiredness and difficulty concentrating are typical symptoms for not drinking enough water.
The body needs water to be energetic and able to perfectly perform its functions. Without water, the body tries to preserve its energy and thus makes you feel sleepy and less energetic.
3-Mood Swings

Dehydration cause various irritable feelings makes you feel uncomfortable. It may also lead to feelings of anxiety and other mood-related symptoms.
4-Constant Thirst
Once your daily water intake decreases, your body tries to remind you that you need to drink more water.
5-Dry Mouth and Bad Breath

Not drinking sufficient amounts of water can cause dry mouth and lips. This sign is in fact one of the classic signs of dehydration as if your organs send a helpful reminder that it is time to increase your water intake.
This symptom can be serious if it caused bad breath because there is not enough saliva to get rid of unwanted bacteria. Then the bacteria can affect your tongue, teeth, or gums.
6-Dark Circles under the Eyes

Without abundant amounts of water, you will start notice dark circles under your eyes as a genuine result of the thick blood. The matter can be even worse if it causes eye wrinkles.
7-Less Urination or Dark Urine
Water is so essential for kidneys in order to properly function and purify your body.
With few amounts of water, the kidneys retain more water and consequently your urine production will be decreased. This reduced production of urine will be dark colored as it contains a concentrated amount of toxins.
8-Digestive Problems

Drinking water strengthens the process of the digestive system and ensures a smooth journey for food through your digestive tract.
However, drinking inadequate amounts of water will make this journey harder and so exhausting for you causing what is known as Constipation.
Too little water will lead your intestines to withdraw too much water from the stool making the process even harder.
9-Muscle Cramp

If you do not get enough water, your body will not produce the usual amount of sweat. This can actually cause muscle cramps and joint pain. The reason is that you need sweat to cool you down and being unable to sweat will actually affect your muscles.
10-High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol

When you drink less water, the water concentration in your blood declines causing it to be a bit thicker. Thus, the heart found it difficult to pump and circulate the thick blood through your system, causing increased blood pressure.
Furthermore, the body starts to produce more cholesterol to keep the cells moist which highly increases the levels of cholesterol in your body.
