Al-Ahsa is hosting Al-Bisht Al-Hasawi Festival, displaying the authentic heritage and rich culture of Saudi Arabia’s Easten Province.
Running until February 7, 2026 at the historic Qasr Ibrahim, the festival celebrates the traditional Bisht craft, attracting visitors from across the Kingdom and the world to explore this unique tradition.
The Hasawi Bisht is a distinguished, flowing cloak worn by Saudi men as a hallmark of prestige for both formal ceremonies and private celebrations. Tailored from a palette of light and dark fabrics, the garment is meticulously detailed with fine silk threads.

Its most striking feature is the Zari embroidery—intricate patterns of gold, silver, or vibrant yellow and red that line the edges.
Named after the Al-Ahsa Governorate, the robe honors the specialized lineage of local families who have mastered the art of hand-weaving and embroidery over generations.
Al-Bisht Al-Hasawi Festival draws crowds with its display of royal designs and elegant colors. The event provides a hands-on experience, allowing visitors to wear the iconic attire and document their journey through one of the Kingdom’s most cherished sartorial traditions.
Additionally, the festival feature a wide range of cultural activities, including workshops with masterful artisans to introduce the Zari embroidery.

Importantly, the festival also celebrates the Bisht’s official inscription on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in December 2025. This global recognition honors the craftsmanship of Al-Ahsa and cements Saudi Arabia’s position as a premier destination for world-class cultural heritage.
