Strawberry farming is flourishing in Najran, reflecting the region’s effective use of natural resources and modern agricultural technologies to promote sustainable farming and solidify its standing as a key agricultural hub in Saudi Arabia.

According to Fahd Al-Jareeb, Executive Director of the Cooperative Agricultural Association West of Najran, the region holds great promise for diversifying agricultural production. Strawberries, in particular, have thrived thanks to Najran’s favorable climate and fertile soil—ideal conditions for growing high-quality fruit.

Local farmers have embraced greenhouse cultivation and suspended farming methods, enabling consistent, year-round production. In the latest season, output reached nearly 500 strawberry packages per day, meeting local demand and enhancing food security.

Al-Jareeb highlighted that Najran-grown strawberries are prized for their large size and rich flavor, earning popularity among consumers both within the region and beyond.
