Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art (SAMoCA) in JAX is currently hosting “A Night of a Lifetime,” showcasing a poetic journey where marriage is depicted as a timeless ritual and universal act of love and unity, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Running through April 18, the exhibition provides audiences a unique opportunity to explore the ceremonial, emotional, and cultural essence of weddings through the lens of contemporary art.
Curated by Philippe Castro and Alaa Tarabzouni, “A Night of a Lifetime” features the participation of over 30 artists from Saudi Arabia, the wider region, and worldwide.
Hence, the exhibition stands out as a distinctive platform that allows artists, cultural leaders, and visitors to join a landmark dialogue between tradition and modernity.
Marking SAMoCA’s first exhibition at JAX with a local co-curator, “A Night of a Lifetime” reflects the museum’s dedication to supporting local artists and offering them an opportunity to showcase their work on home, side by side with internationally recognized peers.
“SAMoCA at JAX proudly unveils “A Night of a Lifetime,” an exhibition that transforms the universal experience of marriage into an artistic journey, presenting extraordinary works by local and international talents,” Acting CEO of the Museums Commission, Ibrahim Alsanousi, said.
The exhibition also spotlights the cultural tapestry of Saudi and Arab weddings, while engaging with global artistic visions of partnership and ceremony.
