Workout in the Clouds: Saudi Arabia Unveils World’s Highest Gym Class
Saudi Arabia has introduced a record-breaking workout experience, launching the World’s Highest Gym Class in Riyadh.
Unveiled by GymNation, the extraordinary experience runs every Saturday throughout January, offering 30 minutes of high energy fitness inside a hot-air balloon.
Soaring 2,200 feet high above Riyadh, the class blends workouts with a breathtaking journey exploring the capital’s landmarks. From the Kingdom Tower, to the Majdoul Tower, and Al Faisaliah Tower, participants burn calories against the backdrop of Riyadh’s skyline.

Beginning with a warm-up and stretching session on the ground, participants take off for energetic 30-minute full-body strength and conditioning workout.
The unique fitness class adopts playful aviation-inspired exercise names, such as Cloud Crushers (Squats), Overhead Ascent (Overhead Press), Altitude Lunges (Lunges), Wing Spans (Lateral Raises), and Bicep Take-Offs (Bicep Curls).
Safety remains the top priority for GymNation’s record-breaking fitness class. This exclusive, small-group experience is meticulously managed to ensure a seamless and secure workout from start to finish.

Beyond the stunning skyline, the class also leverages altitude training principles designed by sports scientist Aderito Manuel. The hypoxic environment stimulates the production of hemoglobin and red blood cells, enhancing the body’s oxygen transport system. According to Manuel, this not only accelerates recovery but provides a metabolic edge that can spike calorie burn by as much as 15%.
