WBC Boxing Grand Prix Returns to Riyadh This June

The WBC Boxing Grand Prix will return to Saudi Arabia this summer for a second phase in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

From June 20-22, 2025, Boulevard City in Riyadh will see 64 elite fighters from more than 40 countries competing for glory in a thrilling showdown.

The much-anticipated tournament, organized by the World Boxing Council and Riyadh Season, will involve 32 bouts in the knockout qualifiers to determine who will compete in the final stages.

In phase 2 of the WBC Boxing Grand Prix, fighters will compete across 4 weight categories, including featherweight, super lightweight, middleweight, and heavyweight.

This phase will pave the way for the third phase scheduled for next August, which will determine who will ascend to the grand finals in December. The winners in all four categories will be crowned, while Riyadh will be celebrated as the WBC World Capital of Champions.

The first phase of the tournament took place in the Saudi capital in April, with the participation of 128 fighters amid a huge turnout. It featured a series of highly competitive bouts that underscored the elevated standard of rivalry among participants.

The WBC Boxing Grand Prix further establishes Saudi Arabia’s position as a global hub for major sporting events, particularly boxing championships which attract more fans from inside and outside the Kingdom.
