Tourism Ministry: Licensed Rooms in Makkah Surge 41% to Over 300,000 in Q1 2025

The number of licensed hospitality rooms in Makkah has surpassed 300,000 in the first quarter of 2025 a 41% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

More than 1,160 hospitality establishments are now officially licensed in the city. The Ministry has carried out extensive inspection and oversight visits to ensure these facilities are fully prepared to welcome pilgrims and maintain top-tier service standards for the upcoming Hajj season.

This sharp rise in licensed accommodations highlights the Ministry’s continued commitment to enhancing service quality for pilgrims during the 1446 AH Hajj. It is part of a wider, coordinated effort with other government agencies to ensure that pilgrims can perform their rituals in comfort, safety, and peace.
