The city of Abha and several surrounding governorates in the Aseer Region are beginning to come alive with the first signs of Jacaranda season. The blooming trees are painting the landscape in stunning shades of purple and lavender, creating a picturesque scene that draws visitors and locals alike to witness the beauty of spring’s arrival.

Photographers from the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) have captured the vibrant blossoms of the Jacaranda trees, whose rich colors elevate the natural charm of the season. Native to the Bignoniaceae family, the Jacaranda genus includes around 45 species of trees and shrubs. Depending on the climate, these trees may be deciduous in colder areas or remain evergreen in milder regions.

Jacarandas can grow impressively tall—over 18 meters—with growth reaching up to 3 meters in their first year alone. While they primarily propagate through seeds during March and April, they can also be cultivated year-round in controlled environments or with modern horticultural techniques.

Their annual bloom continues to add to the enchanting atmosphere of Abha, showcasing both the ecological richness of the Aseer Region and its dedication to environmental beautification.
