Jeddah Hosts Unique Symposium on Sea Turtle Conservation

Jeddah is currently hosting the first International Symposium for the Conservation of Sea Turtles from November 3 to 6, Arab News reported.

The symposium will basically center around the Red Sea and the global marine conservation efforts.

Through the participation of approximately 30 local and international experts and researchers, the event will delve into ways to preserve endangered sea turtle species and safeguard marine biodiversity.

Organized by the General Organization for the Conservation of Coral Reefs and Turtles in the Red Sea (SHAMS), the occasion will feature various presentations and panel discussions revolving around the latest scientific research, innovative solutions for sea turtle protection, and strategies for international collaboration.

In the same context, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) shed light on the significance of the symposium as a promising opportunity to discuss the sustainable future of the Red Sea’s outstanding marine ecosystem.

MEWA added that the event further boosts Saudi Arabia’s position as a prestigious destination known for its marine environmental protection.
