Crown Prince Gives Top Priority to Women Empowerment

While celebrating the 6th anniversary of the pledge of allegiance to Prince Mohammed Bin Salman as the Crown Prince on 28th of April, 2023 , it’s time to shed light on the outstanding achievements interns of empowering women.

During the past six years, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman considered ending men guardianship and empowering women a top priority as females mark about 50 % of Saudi society.

He took the notable decision to officially allow women across Saudi Arabia to drive following the rescinding of a decades-old ban on female motorists.

Another stride was the introduction of a public decorum system and Anti-Harassment Law which came into effect in 2018 stipulating severe penalties, including imprisonment for up to 5 years and heavy fines on convicted persons.

Later in 2021, the law was amended to include the naming and shaming of those found guilty by forcing them to publish their sentences in local media at their own expense, which reflect the keenness of the leadership to safeguard woman and ensuring her full human rights.

There were also a great decisions to permit sports for girls in schools besides allowing Saudi women to participate in the Olympic Games and Saudi families to enter stadiums to watch football matches.

Women were also granted aircraft pilot licenses and the permission to travel without the company of a blood relative, which facilitated their multi-purpose movements outside the country.

Since then, incredible achievements of some female figures were attained for the first time in the Kingdom’s history in labor market, politics, space-science, sports and entertainment.
