The Red Sea Souk Projects, one of the flagship programs of the Red Sea Market, has announced the selection of 32 feature-length film projects in the development, production, and post-production stages to participate in its 2026 edition. The initiative aims to support filmmakers and expand opportunities for collaboration and co-production among cinematic talents from the Arab world, Africa, and Asia.
The program is part of the market’s ongoing efforts to empower creators in developing their film projects while connecting them with financing, production, and distribution networks at both regional and international levels.
The Red Sea Souk Projects will take place from December 5 to 9, alongside the Red Sea International Film Festival, offering participants the opportunity to present their projects to a distinguished group of producers, financiers, distributors, and cinema industry experts.
Moreover, the program seeks to facilitate access to strategic partners and open new horizons for the selected projects, enhancing their chances of development and access to international markets and platforms.
Supporting Co-Productions and Expanding Collaboration Opportunities
This year, the market features 32 feature film projects across the development, production, and post-production stages, as part of a strategy aimed at strengthening co-production among filmmakers from different countries and cultures.
The program also offers a series of pitch sessions and one-on-one meetings that connect project owners with funding, production, and distribution entities, helping to build effective partnerships that support project completion and international visibility.

Cash Awards, Funding Opportunities
The selected projects will compete for a range of cash awards provided by the Red Sea Fund, in addition to other prizes offered by the market’s partners.
These awards will be granted by specialized juries with the goal of supporting the completion of production and development phases, enabling projects to achieve higher levels of artistic and production readiness.
Over the past years, the Red Sea Souk Projects has supported several films that went on to gain significant recognition at major international festivals. One notable success is Night Courier (Mandoob Al Leil) by director Ali Kalthami. Additionally, it had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023 after participating in the market’s support and development programs.

Platform for Discovering New Cinematic Voices
The Red Sea Souk Projects continues to strengthen its position as a leading platform for discovering emerging filmmaking talent and supporting promising projects, while also enhancing the presence of regional filmmakers on the global cinema stage.

Finally, the market is considered one of the most prominent initiatives contributing to the development of the film industry in the region by providing a professional environment that brings together creativity, financing, and international partnership opportunities, opening broader prospects for ambitious cinematic projects.
