On the occasion of World Bicycle Day, the Sports Boulevard organized a cycling tour in Riyadh with the participation of more than 500 cyclists, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Held in cooperation with the Saudi Cycling Federation and the Saudi Sports for All Federation, the tour aligned with ongoing efforts to foster healthy lifestyles and inspire the community to engage in sports activities within a fully integrated urban setting.
The tour covered 3 kilometers, with bikers and community sports enthusiasts taking part in this unique experience that allowed participants to enjoy riding across the Sports Boulevard’s cycling tracks.
This event promotes the objectives of the Sports Boulevard project to boost the quality of life and encourage active mobility, in addition to increasing sports participation among community members, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Sports Boulevard is one of Saudi Vision 2030 megaprojects, aiming to make Riyadh one of the most livable cities in the world, by encouraging people to follow a healthy lifestyle through exercising and participating in different sports.
It extends through Riyadh, connecting Wadi Hanifa in the west to Wadi Al-Sulai in the east through Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road, with more than 135 km to become the largest linear park in the world. The innovative project includes pathways for pedestrians, cyclists, and amateurs, as well as horse trails and other sports facilities.
