King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah has solidified its standing among the world’s mega airports, ranking third globally for airports handling 50 to 60 million passengers annually in the Skytrax 2026 World Airport Awards.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), KAIA also placed fifth in the “World’s Most Improved Airports” category and moved up 17 places from the past year’s ranking to the 27th position in the global top 100 list.
The announcement was made at the Passenger Terminal Expo in London. This impressive success highlights the swift advancements made by the airport in elevating both service quality and the traveler experience.
Additionally, this milestone reflects Jeddah Airports Company’s ongoing work to improve the passenger journey, optimize operational efficiency, and meet its strategic goals. Reaching the third-place rank among global mega-airports is a core strategic target for the company’s 2026 customer excellence plan.

Marking the occasion, Mazen bin Mohammed Johar, CEO of Jeddah Airports Company, noted that the achievement underscores the company’s dedication to service quality. He added that this notable achievement is the result of the collective efforts and unified teamwork of the entire King Abdulaziz International Airport staff.
The improved ranking serves as a clear sign of steady gains in performance metrics concerning the passenger experience. Furthermore, it strengthens KAIA’s role as a leading gateway to the Kingdom, specifically for pilgrims arriving for Hajj and Umrah.
