Riyadh Art, L’Institut Français Open ‘La Fabrique’ Creative Space in JAX District

Riyadh Art, in collaboration with L’Institut Français in Saudi Arabia, has inaugurated La Fabrique, a new hub for artistic innovation and cultural exchange at the Riyadh Art Hub in JAX District.

Running from January 22 to February 14, the initiative is part of the ongoing cultural partnership between Saudi Arabia and France. La Fabrique is conceived as an open, experimental platform—a living laboratory where artists can develop, test, and refine ideas through collaboration.

The space showcases diverse contemporary artistic practices, including performance art, digital and interactive media, photography, music, cinema, and participatory art. Visitors are invited to engage directly with the creative process and explore how artworks evolve from concept to realization. This approach supports Riyadh Art’s mission to integrate art into public spaces and make it more accessible to the community.

French Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Patrick Maisonnave described La Fabrique as a new chapter in Saudi-French cultural cooperation, noting that the shared creative environment encourages meaningful exchange of expertise and ideas between artists from both countries. He also emphasized that the initiative highlights art’s role as a bridge for dialogue, communication, and mutual understanding.

Omar AlBraik, Senior Director of Public Art at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, said the launch of La Fabrique reinforces Riyadh Art’s commitment to supporting contemporary artistic practices and expanding access to creative development opportunities. Moreover, he added that the space strengthens collaborative work and contributes to the growth of Riyadh’s dynamic cultural and creative ecosystem.
