Riyadh Air Launches ‘Employment-1st’ Overseas Aviation Training Scholarship Program

Riyadh Air has unveiled its new Employment-First Overseas Aviation Training Scholarship Program, designed to introduce multiple scholarship pathways that combine international education with guaranteed employment. The program will begin with two specialized engineering tracks in Australia, followed by a pilot training program in the United States.

The initiative falls under the Promising Path track of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program and is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, and the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). It represents a strategic effort to develop national capabilities and prepare a new generation of aviation professionals.

According to a press release issued by Riyadh Air, the first phase of the program will send students to Australia to pursue bachelor’s degrees in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, specializing in both Mechanical Engineering and Avionics (Electronics). In the coming month, the airline will also launch a Commercial Pilot Training Program in the United States.

In line with Riyadh Air’s commitment to career development, scholarship recipients will be employed by the company prior to commencing their studies. Additionally, this approach ensures that participants’ professional experience is officially registered with the General Organization for Social Insurance from the outset, strengthening their career readiness and long-term professional growth.

The launch of this program reflects Riyadh Air’s ongoing dedication to empowering national talent and equipping Saudi Arabia’s young workforce with the skills and expertise required to support the Kingdom’s rapidly growing aviation sector.

Commenting on the initiative, Nahar Aljahani, Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Business Partners at Riyadh Air, said: “The ‘Employment-First’ Scholarship Program reflects our commitment to developing national human capital and enabling Saudi youth—both men and women—to access world-class education. This initiative will play a vital role in advancing the aviation sector and supports Riyadh Air’s goal of creating more than 200,000 direct and indirect jobs.”
