The Japanese Embassy in Saudi Arabia organized the Japan Festival in Riyadh 2025 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Japan, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Held on October 31 at the Cultural Palace in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter, the event brought together several cultural figures, economic leaders, government representatives, along with the diplomatic community.

The Japan Festival marked an extraordinary blend between traditional and contemporary Japanese cultural performances, including dynamic Wadaiko drumming, stunning Kabuki dance, and Tsugaru Shamisen musical showcases.
The audience also enjoyed unique cultural experiences such as Arabic and Japanese calligraphy, traditional attire, culinary arts, artisanal crafts, as well as an exhibition showcasing Japanese companies operating in the Kingdom.

Japanese Ambassador, Morino Yasunari, underscored that the festival mirrors the deep-rooted friendship between Saudi Arabia and Japan, in his speech at the opening ceremony.
He also noted that both nations are unfolding a new era of cooperation and integration, outlined by the Saudi Vision 2030.

Yasunari expressed his special thanks for the unwavering support that Japanese cultural events receive in the Kingdom, stressing that such collaboration effectively enhances cultural and people-to-people ties.
