Jeddah’s Urban Transformation Drives Global Recognition in Quality of Life Index

Jeddah has secured the 74th position globally in the 2025 Quality of Life Index, based on data from Numbeo. This ranking makes it the highest-ranked city in Saudi Arabia and the second in the Arab world, following Muscat.

The achievement reflects the city’s ongoing enhancements in public safety, healthcare, infrastructure, and modern amenities—all part of a broader strategy to transform Jeddah’s rapid development into concrete benefits for its people and visitors.

Waterfront Developments

A centerpiece of the municipality’s efforts is the creation of five integrated waterfronts, designed to make the Red Sea an everyday part of city life. These vibrant spaces include:

  • Walking and cycling paths
  • Public squares and children’s play areas
  • Sculptures and aesthetic landmarks
  • Restaurants, cafés, rest areas, and marine platforms

The city also maintains an active beach management program, ensuring cleanliness, environmental protection, and public awareness about preserving marine resources.

Expanding Parks, Green Spaces

To strengthen community well-being, the municipality has launched more than 445 parks across Jeddah. These spaces serve as inclusive gathering points while promoting recreation and social interaction. Complementing this, the city has introduced expanded pedestrian walkways, wider sidewalks, and modern lighting systems, improving both safety and accessibility while encouraging active lifestyles.

Environmental protection remains a top priority. Jeddah has implemented innovative waste management programs, including waste-sorting at the source, converting waste into resources, and monitoring pollution levels. These measures have produced tangible improvements in air quality and overall environmental comfort.

 Balanced Urban Experience

By integrating marine projects, public parks, modern infrastructure, and sustainability initiatives, Jeddah is emerging not only as an economic hub but also as a world-class tourist destination. The city’s natural beauty now complements its modern services, creating a comprehensive urban experience tailored to the evolving needs of residents and visitors alike.
