‘Unreal Calendar’: Cristiano Ronaldo Features in Saudi Tourism Campaign

The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) has launched a mega campaign titled “Unreal Calendar,” featuring the football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

In a promotional video, which displays scenes of Ronaldo playing football, Al-Nassr’s superstar says: “I came for football, I stayed for more.” The video highlights a range of key sporting, cultural and entertainment events held in the Kingdom.

The “Unreal Calendar” campaign aims to showcase Saudi Arabia’s rich events calendar all year long, targeting key international markets such as Europe, India and China.

The events calendar involves a diverse range of major championships, including Esports World Cup (EWC), F1, LIV Golf Riyadh, tennis matches, boxing showdowns, and the Saudi Pro League (RSL). It also features cultural and entertainment events, such as Riyadh Fashion Week (RFW), Red Sea International Film Festival, Soundstorm 2025, and the Saudi Seasons in Riyadh, Diriyah, and AlUla, as well as global music, comedy and theatrical performances.

Underscoring Saudi Arabia’s growing status as a premier global hub for international events, the Kingdom will host the AFC Asian Cup 2027, the Olympic Esports Games in 2027, Asian Winter Games in 2029, and the FIFA World Cup 2034.

In the light of this, the Saudi Tourism Minister, Ahmed Al-Khatib, said: “Today, Saudi Arabia is cementing its place as a global destination that combines cultural authenticity, warm hospitality, and the thrill of world-class events.”

“In the tourism sector, we remain steadfast in our commitment to developing a seamless landscape that inspires the world and provides visitors with unforgettable experiences,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo said: “Being part of Saudi’s journey as a global sports hub has been truly special and somehow unexpected for me a few years ago. What I admire most about Saudi is how it honors its roots while building for the future.”
