Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism, recently toured the Islamic Arts Biennale 2025, themed “And All That Is in Between.” Held at the Western Hajj Terminal in King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, the event is organized by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation and will continue until May 25.
During his visit on Tuesday evening, Al-Khateeb explored the extensive collection of artistic and historical works on display. The biennale showcases over 500 artifacts and contemporary pieces, highlighting the rich heritage of Islamic arts and cultures while reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s emergence as a global center for culture and creativity.
The minister delved into the biennale’s seven unique artistic sections—Al Bidayah, Al Madar, Al Muqtani, Al Midhallah, Al Mukarramah, Al Munawwarah, and Al Musalla—which blend ancient archaeological treasures with modern artistic interpretations.
As he walked through the exhibition halls, Al-Khateeb admired a variety of loaned works, including historical artifacts, Islamic collectibles, and contemporary creations. The biennale also features contributions from prestigious international institutions such as the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, enhancing the cultural depth of the event. Designed to offer a captivating visual and intellectual experience, the biennale takes visitors on a journey through the evolution of Islamic art and heritage.
