In celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, the Jeddah Historic District is hosting Ramadan Season 2025, organized by the Jeddah Historic District Program, an affiliate of the Saudi Ministry of Culture.
Ramadan Season 2025 is a program that aims to revive the Saudi cultural heritage and promote Saudi national identity through various Ramadan-themed cultural and community activities and events, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Throughout Ramadan, the Jeddah Historic District hosts diverse events and activities which immerse visitors in a unique Ramadan experience in the heart of the UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site.
These include tours of historical buildings to discover the authentic heritage of Jeddah Historic District. Moreover, the tours involve traditional markets which display local products and traditional foods.
Ramadan Season 2025 also features a specialized workshop for handicrafts, including Arabic calligraphy and pottery, to raise awareness of handicrafts and highlight their cultural significance.
Furthermore, the Ramadan Season 2025 hosts events for families and children, including interactive and entertainment activities to introduce Saudi Arabia’s culture to younger generations and foster their connection to the Kingdom’s heritage.
The program also provides the opportunity for local entrepreneurs to display their products at traditional markets, driving local economy growth.
This aligns with the Jeddah Historic District Program’s efforts to preserve the region’s architectural and cultural heritage and transform it into a global heritage destination in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
