The fourth edition of Noor Riyadh Festival will kick off on November 28 and will last until December 14, 2024, across several locations in the capital city of Saudi Arabia.
The annual light art festival features a world-class exhibition for 60 light-based artworks by leading Saudi and international artists, transforming Riyadh into a glowing gallery. It also involves a rich public program, including educational workshops, talks, and performances.
Under the theme “Light Years Apart,” Noor Riyadh aims to transform the Saudi capital city into an open gallery that combines heritage and modernity, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). It also aims to foster local talent and inspire Saudi youth to lead the Kingdom’s creative economy.
Noor Riyadh 2024 features a diverse range of artistic light shows that will illuminate Riyadh’s skies and create an inspiring environment for arts and culture enthusiasts.
The event is part of the Riyadh Art Program, one of Riyadh’s four grand projects launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in 2019 to enhance art in Riyadh.
In the light of this, the Saudi Minister of Culture, member of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, and Chairman of the Riyadh Art Program’s Steering Committee, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, emphasized the significance of the event.
He said: “Noor Riyadh is an annual creative platform that brings together leading artists and talents in light works from across the world. It exhibits inspiring art works, supports creativity in Riyadh, contributes to establishing the city’s status as a global hub for creativity and arts, and improves the quality of life.”
