Intentional Living: Matching Your Values With Your Life

By: Ranim Elgabakhngi
Life tugs incessantly at us from all sides with noise, pressure, endless list of should-dos. Recently, most people even stop for a moment, look around, make a different choice instead. Their days are no longer dictated by routine but rather by quiet deliberate decisions. Instead of merely sailing through the days, they construct their lives around what resonates with them. They now allow meaning to lead the way even if it sometimes requires them to do fewer things.
Intentional Living
Living on purpose happens when you just finally decide to do things that really reflect your values and the kind of person you want to be. When you think first about time, effort, and money, your days take on a whole new shape. Purpose-driven folks aren’t the ones who just get luck. It’s more like they are the ones who lead their luck. Choices are born from one’s own values rather than one’s fear of what others might say.
Core Values
What truly matters is revealed when someone spends time pondering shared core values. It could be that family is what matters the most, just like being healthy, sharing one’s thoughts, achieving personal growth through study, or getting involved in the community. Since these are the things that influence one’s choices, one’s actions begin to reflect one’s real self more accurately. Because there is cohesion between one’s selection and one’s value, one obtains a serene mind and a more confident feeling of one’s path.

Daily Life
Begin with a few things, some people can think better when there is less noise. When the clutter is removed the timings become a bit flexible, the light from the screens is reduced a new and different rhythm emerges. The old meaning is being replaced by the new one changing the old gap. Free space arises after we let go of a lot of things. Growth doesn’t just happen in quick flashes, instead it comes through those quiet moments that we allow ourselves. What is left behind, in a way, seems more substantial yet at the same time, it is lighter.
Long-Term Fulfillment
Almost everyone gets more satisfaction out of living when they put what is most important to them above all. A career that seems meaningful, times with people, habits focused on caring all contribute to a stronger sense of direction. Gradually, little by little, a route is laid down that seems more definite than random. Purpose is nurtured in the place where one focuses, not where one merely goes through the motions.
Here, even more people are in search of what really matters. Once you discover your top priorities, things become much clearer. When your decisions closely reflect your truths, life occupies less space. Decisions become comfortable like old shoes that have been worn in by actual steps. It is not expected that anyone will get it right as mistakes will still be there. So, what changes? Being mindful of how you are drifting through the days with intent. Alignment is a thing that comes on its own, not something one has to shout or be flashy about. Life is essentially something that one experiences rather than one that is performed.
