Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2026 to Explore Contemporary Themes

The Diriyah Biennale Foundation has announced the lineup of artists set to take part in the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2026, which will begin on January 30 in Diriyah’s Jax District, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Titled “In Interludes and Transitions,” the 2026 edition will focus on various themes such as movement, migration, and transformation.

These themes are the key catalysts that have historically shaped pathways of communication and cultural exchange between the Arab region and other countries worldwide.

The 2026 Biennale will bring together over 65 artists from 37 countries, showcasing 22 new works created by artists, musicians, filmmakers, architects, and writers.

These pieces explore concepts of continuity, resilience, and collective imagination amid periods of profound change.

The artistic directors also unveiled that the upcoming edition of the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale reflects the crucial role of art in interpreting contemporary transformations.

Diriyah Biennale Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Aya Al-Bakree, said the event features artists from different generations, geographies, and creative disciplines.

Therefore, it provides audiences with a dynamic and divers artistic experience that mirrors Diriyah’s growing role as a global hub for culture and contemporary art.
