AlUla has hosted the test race for the 2026 World Endurance Championship, held in coincidence with the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation Endurance Cup, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Organized by the Royal Commission for AlUla in partnership with the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation, the event brought together 270 riders from 18 countries.
Held under the supervision of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), the 160-kilometer, three-star test race, has assessed AlUla’s readiness to stage the 2026 World Endurance Championship. It also evaluated the facilities, trails, timing systems, and preparations for international judges.
Crucially, the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation Endurance Cup will boast a two-star 120-kilometer race as well as a one-star 100-kilometer competition.
Interestingly, AlUla has remarkably succussed in hosting multiple endurance races, most importantly the prestigious Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, recognized as the most valuable event of its kind in the world.
This milestone has empowered the historic city to honorably host the 2026 World Endurance Championship.
