Rural Tourism Flourishes in Al-Jouf: Fresh Take on Agricultural Experiences

The agricultural landscapes of Al-Jouf have become a favored destination for summer evening getaways, especially during the school holiday season. In Sakaka, evening temperatures hover around a pleasant 27°C, creating the perfect atmosphere for family outings.

Among the farms west of Sakaka, one initiative stands out—that of local resident Yousef Al-Haizan. Driven by his deep connection to the land and passion for agriculture, Al-Haizan transformed his farm into a summer retreat, offering visitors a unique mix of relaxation, hospitality, and cultural heritage.

His farm seamlessly blends modern comforts with traditional charm. Visitors can enjoy shaded, open-air seating nestled under trees, as well as dedicated zones for youth activities like horseback riding and motorbiking.

This transformation is part of a broader, community-led push to revitalize rural tourism in Al-Jouf by reimagining the use of farmland. These efforts aim to create engaging, locally rooted experiences that contribute to the region’s growth.

Covering more than 70,000 square meters, Al-Haizan’s farm features multiple themed areas designed to enrich the visitor experience. Highlights include an equestrian zone with riding lessons for all ages, traditional gathering spots offering Saudi coffee and dates, and rustic spaces that celebrate Al-Jouf’s rural heritage. A Bedouin-style tent and various other amenities further enhance the experience.
