Saudi Arabia has featured among the happiest countries in the world in the 2025 World Happiness Report. The Kingdom has also secured the 3rd place in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, after the UAE and Kuwait.

According to the World Happiness Report for the year 2025, Saudi Arabia ranks as the world’s 32nd happiest country, underscoring the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life and wellbeing of its citizens, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

In 2018, Saudi Arabia launched the Quality of Life Program to improve the standards of living and liveability, and promote various quality-of-life related sectors, including urban landscape, security, culture and heritage, sports, tourism, and entertainment.

Nordic countries have maintained their position on the top of the World Happiness Report list, with Finland securing the first place for the eighth year in a row, followed by Denmark, Iceland and Sweden.

With regards to the MENA region, the UAE remains the happiest country in the region, ranking the 21st on the list. It came ahead of countries such as the UK, the US and France. Kuwait secures the 30th place, coming as the second happiest Arab country.

The 2025 World Happiness Report marks the UN International Day of Happiness on March 20. The report is a collaboration between Gallup, the Oxford Wellbeing Research Centre, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and an editorial board.

It analyzes data compiled by Gallup from over 140 countries according to six key variables: GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity and perceptions of corruption.
