The Royal Commission for AlUla has signed a promising partnership with Slow Food to support sustainable agriculture and culinary heritage, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Slow Food is an Italian global movement consisting of local groups and activists united by the common goal of ensuring everyone has access to good, clean and fair food.

The deal comes after two years of remarkable food events in AlUla, strengthening its position as a prestigious destination for food enthusiasts.
Therefore, it aims basically at displaying the economic, social and health benefits of AlUla’s products.
Interestingly, the current cooperation coincides with the fifth AlUla Dates Season, providing significant economic opportunities for local farmers, entrepreneurs, and families involved in cottage industries.

Currently, the Italian-based movement, Slow Food, is hosting culinary demonstrations by chef Hooryah Abdulqader and chef Serhan Hasdemir, who offered dishes using AlUla dates last weekend.
They will offer their dishes again on Oct. 25-26 at the farmers’ market in Al-Manshiyah Plaza.
