AlUla is currently hosting the Ancient Kingdoms Festival 2025, inviting visitors to explore AlUla’s rich history, successive civilizations, and cultural traditions, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Set to run until December 6, the festival kicked off with an opening ceremony at the Al Hijr archaeological site.

The ceremony began with AlUla’s narrators and the city’s local story ambassadors who narrated tales of the region’s storied past and its pivotal role along the historic Incense Route.
Then, visitors enjoyed the “Stories from the Sky” show, a stunning drone display that illuminated Al-Hijr’s skies. Through captivating light formation, the show offered rare glimpses into the region’s history and successive civilizations, spotlighting its unique status in the world heritage scene.

The Ancient Kingdoms Festival also boasts a series of immersive experiences spanning over 7,000 years of human history, as follows:
- Incense Trail adventure
- Guided walks among Al Hijr’s geological landmarks
- A specially curated children’s tour
- The “Secrets of Ancient Inscriptions” at Jabal Ikmah
- The “Escape House” experience in AlUla’s Old Town

Interestingly, the festival will celebrate the return of the “Al-Hijr Evening” experience beginning November 26, alongside a vast array of cultural and heritage activities, offering visitors unforgettable experiences through interactive, educational, and fully integrated stations.
